Andrew Williams goes to John C. Fremont Senior High School in Los Angeles, California.
He’s “only” a three-star recruit, ranked as the No. 69 EDGE in the 2026 class by 247Sports, but he picked up a scholarship from Lincoln Riley and USC on Wednesday and he announced his commitment to the Trojans within hours.
For Williams, who plays high school ball 15 minutes from USC’s campus, it came down to the fit with the Trojans. That and the fact that he’s going to be able to play college football while staying near his home.
“The thing that made USC the best fit for me was the coaching staff, the ability to stay at home close to family and my support system,” Williams told Blair Angulo of 247Sports. “The coaching staff has shown a lot of confidence and support in me and that makes me work even harder. The opportunity to stay at home, while attending a top academic and athletic university like USC, is a blessing. And I intend on taking full advantage of my time there.”
Though Williams can play tight end or receiver and does so at the high school level, he’ll make the most impact as an athletic edge-rusher at 6-foot-5, 220 pounds.
He notched 80 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, nine sacks and three forced fumbles as a defender in 2024 while also notching nine rushing touchdowns and three receiving touchdowns on offense.
Williams is an elite athlete, and now he’ll get the chance to show those skills off at USC.
