A former top quarterback recruit is set to enter the transfer portal.
Wisconsin QB Nick Evers, who began his college career at Oklahoma, plans to re-enter the portal, sources tell 247Sports.
247 ranked the Texas native as the eighth-best quarterback and 137th-best overall prospect in the 2022 recruiting class.
Evers, who was one of two transfer QBs that the Badgers added last year along with starter Tanner Mordecai, was brought in as a potential long-term, future option at the position. However, Wisconsin then added former Miami starting quarterback Tyler Van Dyke as a transfer this offseason.
As a senior at Flower Mound High School in 2021, Evers threw for 2,367 yards, ran for 648 yards, accumulated 33 total total touchdowns and was named District MVP. He chose Oklahoma over Florida and others during his original recruiting process.
