Wisconsin defensive line transfer T.J. Bollers has committed to Cal following a visit with the Bears. He explained to 247Sports his transfer portal decision.
“Cal was the best choice because I had already had a longstanding relationship with them from high school, so the relationship part was already covered,” Bollers said. “I feel like the way they run their defense and the position they want me to play I’m going to thrive in as well.
“Lastly, they had everything I was looking for in terms of culture, school and life after ball. I’m excited to be apart of the Cal football program and I can’t wait to take advantage of everything Cal has to offer.”
Bollers prepped at Clear Creek (Ia.) Amana, earning consensus four-star status and being named an All-American.
He was a Top247 recruit for 247Sports.
That was as an EDGE, but he is now 6-foot-2, 285 pounds and can play the three and five-tech at Cal.
After redshirting in 2021, Bollers played in 11 games on special teams and at outside linebacker, making two tackles. He played in four games on special teams in 2023.
