The WNBA Finals will move from a five-game to a seven-game series starting in 2025.
The series will be played a 2-2-1-1-1 format, similar to the NBA Finals.
The first round will also move to a 1-1-1 format, giving both teams an opportunity to play at home.
The league will also increase its regular season from 40 games to 44 games starting next season.
The first two rounds of the WNBA playoffs are averaging 970,000 viewers across ESPN, ESPN2, and ABC, more than doubling last year’s viewership.
